about
Radio guy turned web developer
- I am an independent web developer and hosting provider.
- I am also a Google Workspace administrator for local businesses and organizations and provide one-on-one training in cloud computing, specifically Google Cloud products including Gmail for business.
- I have an ever-evolving toolbox of modern web tech tools. I like things simple. Static site generators connected to cloud-based hosting via the command line is my JAM. Literally, the method is called JAMstack (JavaScript, APIs and Markup).
- 10 years developing with WordPress including custom theme development.
- I run workshops in cloud computing, cybersecurity awareness and implementing web and domain hosting services.
- My design studio is in a wooded area not far from Nelson, BC (and Castlegar). It can also be wherever I plunk down my ThinkPad. As long as we have access to decent internet. And coffee. And maybe some snacks.
- I am a former radio broadcaster including affable morning show host, hockey broadcast colour commentator, reporter and audio producer in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia. I started in the business as a technical producer (board operator, actually) for CKNW/98 (and sister station CFMI) Vancouver where I worked Vancouver Canucks hockey broadcasts, the afternoon road show and evening/weekend programming.
- I still have a working microphone and a digital audio workstation. One day I may just plug 'em in again. :-)
I am always open to new ideas. I hope you are too.
Let's work together
If you think I'd be a good fit for your project please holler. I'm interested!
Featured project:
Nelson Minor Hockey Association
We recently did a freshening of the Nelson Minor Hockey website with
a new design system and a mobile-first approach. It incorporates G Suite for document delivery including
tournament schedules with game results provided in real time during tournaments.
